Pan-Pacific Festival to Showcase Nā Hōkū Performers and Welcome Participants from Japan

Honolulu, HI—The Pan-Pacific Festival Foundation and the Matsuri in Hawai‘i Committee are gearing up for an exciting weekend with the return of the Pan-Pacific Festival. The weekend celebrating Hawai‘i’s diversity is scheduled for June 12 – 14, 2026, at various locations from Ala Moana to Waikīkī. The event is supported by the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority through the
Signature Events Program.

More than 1,000 visitors from Japan will participate in the Festival throughout the weekend, along with more than 2,500 local participants and performers. Last year’s event attracted more than 57,000 people to Waikīkī and Ala Moana over the weekend for a free and fun-filled weekend for all to enjoy.

“We’re excited to once again host the Pan-Pacific Festival and welcome visitors and residents to Waikiki to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures in Hawai‘i,” said Yusuke Komoriya, Pan-Pacific Foundation president. “It’s the perfect way to kick off summer with performances, food, festivities, a bon dance and so much more over the weekend.”

The vibrant Pan-Pacific Ho‘olaule‘a along Kalākaua Avenue from Seaside to Uluniu Avenues will include Hawaiian music, hula, bon dance, and much more. The esteemed Nā Hōkū Stage will include performances by local Nā Hōkū nominees Kaʻimi Hananoʻeau, Tiara Gomes and Ei Nei celebrating Hawaiian music and culture. There will be more than 50 vendors where attendees can enjoy delicious bites and festival food, as well as unique gifts and crafts, and much more.

Festival goers can also enjoy the Performing Arts Showcase at Ala Moana Center Stage and International Market Place and the 22nd Annual Pan-Pacific Hula Festival at the Kūhiō Beach Hula Mound at various times throughout the weekend, starting on Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14.

New this year at the International Market Place will be a cultural showcase on Friday, June 12 where attendees can see pickleball demonstrations, participate in a Japanese calligraphy workshop, and other Japanese crafts. And for the first time, the Pan-Pacific Festival Foundation will bring a traditional Japanese rickshaw that will be on display for a photo op at International
Market Place 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. Additionally, the Festival will introduce its new mascot, Kai the Hunakai, or Sanderling Bird.

The finale event will be the Pan-Pacific Parade on Sunday, June 15, along Kalākaua Avenue, with nearly 1,000 participants, including taiko drumming, the Royal Hawaiian Band, the Cherry Blossom Festival Court, and more.
